Team Four Star: The Future Of DBZA

Updated: Feb 26

So I've been thinking about this for a while now, and I just had to share this idea with everyone, but more specifically, with the folks themselves over at Team Four Star. We're all sad that the Buu Arc won't be happening. But we also understand why; Burnout, Resources, Money, Copyright Issues, etc. It was certainly a difficult thing to hear that Dragon Ball Z Abridged was coming to an end. I remember the same day I found out about this was the day I learned Keanu Reeves turned down the role of Adam Warlock, every MCU fan's fantasy. Luckily that same day I was graced with the good news that Sam Raimi would be handling the next Doctor Strange movie. That was certainly a light at the end of a very dark tunnel.

Now I fully respect Team Four Star's reasons for ending Dragon Ball Z Abridged. The fact that they managed to hang on for this long is truly astounding. They also gave us and Dragon Ball Z itself a beautiful Love Letter/Swan Song with their 3 Part Finale & Epilogue. For that reason, if they choose not to go with this idea, I fully respect that. I just feel the need to at least put this on the table in case they ever thought, "That's viable."

What if there was a way to do a style of Dragon Ball Z Abridged that simplified so much for everyone involved, and if it didn't work as well, it'd still be distinct enough to allow Episode 60 to truly be their Love Letter/Swan Song?

I don't know if anyone's seen YuGiOh GX Abridged with ShadyVox, but back before he left the show to pursue a different career, before ultimately returning back many years later, they showed their last few episodes in a fun perspective. In addition to the regular episodes, we had the episodes in a perspective where you had two boxes; one showing the actual show, and the other showing the Voice Actors in the studio when they were recording those very lines during those very takes.

Well, what if Team Four Star did that, but with the only visuals being themselves recording the lines, acting them out, and of course some visual references from the show in a corner to give people a better perspective. I'd honestly love to see what Nick Landis, Scott Frerichs and the rest of them are like when recording in the studio. Others out there (Fans) could always then use the audio and try to edit themselves with actual footage from the show. These episodes from Team Four Start should of course still included the proper sound effects & music. To keep it fair and honoring the show, Team Four Star should still try and script their episodes to match the general available footage. If there's fun inventive shots they could have created like with Android 16's video to his dad, that's fair.

Later on down the line, Team Four Star could even go back and revise the Buu Arc in their prefered vision, then do a "Roundtable Cold Read" of their script. Then we could get how they feel the Arc could have been improved.

There's moments from that Arc that we're all dying to see dubbed in their brilliant perspective; "Goten & Trunks Meeting Popo", "Goku & Buu Meeting With Similar Stupid Glees & Food Comedy Driving Babidi Nuts", "The Series Finale" of course, but also needless to say, the infamous "Final Atonement" Scene.

If they did that scene, much like Gohan's SSJ 2 Transformation, I'd like them to take the "My Hero Academia" Show's Beautiful Song "Might *U" and have it redone. The two bets picks I can think of to have rerecord that song are either Andie Case or Kait Weston. Their voices would be perfect for it.

I just hope you'll all give give it a thought over at Team Four Star. It would be a lot easier to get out there, with fewer Copyright Issues. I'd just love to hear all your thoughts on this.

Just Imagine:

Goten & Trunks Just Hit Popo Who Says, "You Just Broke Rule 10", That's Why They're Crying Later On. Let Your Imaginations Run Wild What He Did To Them. Then As They Start To Hold In The Tears With Sniffles, Goku's Just Like "Oh Yeah Gohan & Vegeta Are Dead" And They're Back To Bawling.

Goku Meeting Buu:

Goku: "Are You That Minge Boob Guy?"

Buu: "Me Majin Buu, Yes."

Goku: "Awesome, Im'ma Bop Ya In The Dop."

Buu: "Me Eat You Up."

Goku: "Not Without Barbeque Sauce You Aren't!/Now You're Just Talking Semetics."

Babidi: "I'm In The Middle Of A Dumbass/Moron Sandwich."

Goku & Buu: "Oooooo, What's That Taste Like"

Babidi: *Screaming

Vegeta To Piccolo: "Nameki..... Piccolo. Tell Baldy... Tell Krillin, "Team Three Star For Me."

Goku & Ubb At The End Talking About Uub's Village And How It's Near This Old Pot Farm That Suddenly Died Out After The Farmer Disappeared.

Goku: Well I Can Assure You That No One In My Family Had Anything To Do With That.

*Nice Way To Tie It All Back To The Beginning.

Much love to you all over at Team Four Star. I've absolutely loved your content for years now, and even the stuff after DBZA came to an end. From your yearly DBCembers that have broadened my mind, and even more so with your movie reviews, to your ever-so entertaining Talkcast Podshow, and your absolutely hillarious "Unabridged" series, which is like "It's Always Sunny In Philedalphia" & "The Office" put together, but better. Excellent work on your DB Shortz as well. Great way to expand the creative DBZA universe, like Marvel & Star Wars on Disney Plus.

If this doesn't feel viable to you guys, no problem. I just wanted to share something I've had rattling around in my head for some time now. Unfortunately, "thought" won't go away, no matter how many times I yell "BEEEEEE!!!!!!! GONE!!!!!!! THOUGHT!!!!"

Have a great day Team Four Star. I hope you're all doing well down there with everything going on in Texas.

Stay Safe, Stay Warm, Stay Healthy.
